Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder: Coaching & Building Life-Long Strategies
(e-mail kubikja@bridgetosuccess.net)

Many adults are learning, for the first time, that they have Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD). They find themselves living a life of confusion, overwhelming feelings, and struggling to complete the simplest tasks each day, with little or no satisfaction. This 6-week workshop, by an adult with ADHD, promises to teach you something you don't already know. It will focus on the three stages of coaching - self-awareness, structure and self-empowerment. Learn how you process information, and what strategies work best. Develop structures that will get you to work on time, complete a task without rushing, and watch your self-esteem and communication skills improve. Learn and understand how ADHD affects your life and what you can do about it. You can also take this workshop as a TeleClass.

The primary structure learned in this workshop is Plan For Success, a three-month planning-journal that was designed and published by Joyce Kubik. This three-month planning-journal is included in the registration fee. It is the most valuable tool that an individual with ADHD needs but, as you know, using a planner does not come naturally. One-On-One Coaching
(E-mail kubikja@bridgetosuccess.net) to discuss if coaching is for you and the costs involved)

Many adults prefer one-on-one coaching either in person or over the telephone. However, ADHD Coaching works best if you have attended an adult small group workshop. These workshops are held in the Avon Lake office, or as a TeleClass. The TeleClass is the same workshop that is held inAvon Lake with the same interactive sessions.

There are three steps in Coaching. The first, self-awareness, a strong education on what is truly means to live with ADHD. You learn to understand your differences. How does AD/HD affect you - personally - and how does it affect others around you.

The second step is structure.and teaches you to use your positive traits to build a workable structure around your life that will enable you to move on to the third step - self-empowerment. This is a very fulfilling and powerful step; one that you will enjoy as you gain greater control of your life and become more assertive and proud of who you are. Together we find your strengths and weaknesses, and build upon them to bring alive the many wonderful things about you. You are the key person in this relationship, and you will tell me how to help you

A Coach provides the structures needed to live within your boundaries. The focus of Coaching is "life-skills". You learn to manage the daily chaos in your mind. Your willingness to change will significantly reduce your stress and anxiety. Your positive attributes and talents will begin to emerge, and create many possibilities for your future. On occasion, with your permission, your therapist may become involved to create the best possible Coaching approach. See Collaborative Approach
